Ogdensburg, New York is located on the US - Canadian border along the St. Lawrence River. A popular vacation destination for fishing, hunting, camping, the Seaway Trail, enjoying the International Seaway Festival and other nearby locations such as Black Lake and the Adirondack Mountains. With a rich historical and arts culture, Ogdensburg’s riverfront provides many opportunities for visitors to learn about the area and it’s important role in the 1800s.
The last full week in July is the occasion of the annual Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival. Among the events of the week are the Remington Canoe Race, a local Battle of the High School Bands (field marching band competition), craft shows, a classic car show, and many other events. The festival ends with a concert and fireworks show on Friday night and a parade on Saturday morning, often stretching over two miles.
